I have shopped at the Coimbra market since I was a student, and most of the stallholders now know me by name. On camera I move between the meat counter and the wine stalls, since a dish like chanfana depends entirely on both. I ask the same questions I would ask for my own kitchen, about what is in season and what a stallholder actually recommends that week. I keep my phone close to the counters so you can see the cuts and the labels properly. I am honest when something is not worth buying that day rather than pretending everything on the counter is excellent.
