About this tour
This short walk moves through the arcaded streets of Annecy's old town, finishing at one of its many small canal crossings. You see the covered walkway of Rue Sainte-Claire and a footbridge over the fast-moving Thiou. Chloé, who speaks some Italian with visitors from across the border, explains the practical reason behind the arcaded design.
The call opens with a sound check under the arcades, then moves a short distance to the canal. Chloé keeps commentary brief and lets the water and architecture speak for themselves, answering questions as they arise. A short list of the stops follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone with limited time who still wants a proper feel for the old town. It also works well as a quick add-on before a longer lakeside session.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Annecy before heading out.
-
Rue Sainte-Claire arcades 15 min
The camera moves under the arcaded street's covered walkway, shopfronts lit even on a grey day. I explain why so many old town streets here were built with this covered design.
-
Canal crossing point 15 min
You see one of several small footbridges crossing the Thiou, water moving quickly beneath it. I point out how many bridges the old town actually has within such a small area.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Annecy: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Fondue savoyarde and Faubourg des Annonciades, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
