Lake Annecy at its bluest
Highlights
- Sequoias framing the lake's edge
- Why the water stays exceptionally clear
- Open lawns where locals swim and picnic
- Snow-capped peaks rising behind the water
- Seventy-five minutes along one shoreline
About this tour
This session stays along Lake Annecy's shore, moving from the sequoia-lined Jardins de l'Europe to the open lawns of Le Paquier and finally to a view of the mountains behind the water. You see the lake's colour change slightly with every angle. Chloé explains why the water stays so clear, a fact more about the surrounding geography than chance.
The call opens with a sound check by the park, then follows the shoreline at a relaxed pace. Chloé answers questions throughout and lingers wherever the colour of the water looks its best. A short list of the viewpoints follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone who wants to see the lake properly before deciding when to visit in warmer months. It also suits viewers who simply enjoy alpine scenery.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 6 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Annecy before heading out.
-
Jardins de l'Europe shoreline 17 min
The camera takes in the lake from the park's edge, sequoias framing the water on one side. I point out why the lake stays so clear, since the reason is more about geography than luck.
-
Le Paquier lawns 17 min
You see the open lakeside lawns where locals swim and picnic through summer. I explain how this stretch differs from the busier port area just along the shore.
-
View toward the mountains 17 min
The camera turns from the water to the peaks rising directly behind it, snow-capped for part of the year. I point out which summit is visible depending on where exactly you stand.
-
Your questions 11 min
Time to ask anything about Annecy: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 5 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Raclette and Le Paquier, worth a slower look.

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
