About this tour

This call explains castells, Catalonia's tradition of building human towers, using a small model rather than a live filmed event. You see how the tower is built level by level and hear who typically takes each position, from the wide base to the child who climbs to the top. It is a tradition better explained calmly than filmed in a crowd.

I build the model up level by level as I talk, taking your questions on the tradition and its safety practices as they come. Afterwards I send a short note on where and when towers are usually built.

This suits anyone curious about Catalan tradition beyond food and architecture. It also works well as a short add-on to a longer Barcelona session.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
