- The beer pipeline running under the streets
- Tripel, dubbel and Flemish red, explained
- Two old beer cafes, poured for other customers
- Local dairy cheese, paired and explained
About this tour
This session looks at Bruges through its beer, from the courtyard of De Halve Maan, the last working brewery in the old centre, to two old beer cafes nearby. You see Tripel, dubbel and Flemish red poured for other customers and cheese from a local dairy set out beside them. It explains a brewing tradition rather than tasting it for you.
The guide checks sound in the brewery courtyard, then moves café to café explaining each beer style as it is poured. You can ask about the brewing process, the underground pipeline or the cheese pairings throughout. A short list of the cafes and beers covered is sent on afterwards.
This suits anyone interested in Belgian beer who wants the styles explained before ordering their own. It also suits former visitors to Bruges who walked past these cafes without knowing what set them apart.
Included

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 7 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Bruges before heading out.
-
De Halve Maan, from the courtyard 21 min
The camera stays in the courtyard of De Halve Maan, the last working brewery in the old centre, looking up at the copper tanks through the windows. The guide explains the beer pipeline that runs underground from here to the bottling plant outside town.
-
An old beer café 21 min
Inside a beer café dating back generations, the camera follows glasses being poured for other customers, a Tripel, a dubbel and a Flemish red lined up along the bar. The guide explains what separates each style by colour and strength.
-
Cheese from a local dairy 21 min
At a second café the camera settles on a plate of cheese from a local dairy, set out for pairing with whatever is being poured. The guide explains which cheeses are chosen to go with which beer.
-
Your questions 14 min
Time to ask anything about Bruges: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Moules-frites and Historic Centre, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
