Sablon's antiques and church spires
Highlights
- A weekend antiques market, explained
- Flying buttresses, viewed up close
- Centuries of restoration, traced
- The Sablon's quieter, formal side
- Brussels away from the main square
About this tour
This session covers the antiques trade and church architecture of the Sablon, one of Brussels' more formal squares. You see the market stalls set out for the weekend trade, then the flying buttresses and carved detail of the church nearby. Together they show a quieter, more collected side of the city centre.
We start with a sound check by the market stalls, since the square can be busy on market days. I move slowly to the church for the second stop and take your questions about the antiques trade or the architecture as we go. A short reading note on the church follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone with an interest in antiques, architecture or the quieter corners of central Brussels. It also works well as a calmer stop after a busier walk through the Grand Place.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
