Revolution Square, 1989
Highlights
- A square that changed a country
- Events of one week, explained plainly
- Buildings that overlooked history
- Romania's 1989, told carefully
- A serious look at recent history
About this tour
This session shows Revolution Square, where the 1989 uprising against Ceaușescu unfolded. You see the square itself, then the buildings that overlooked events as they happened that week. The session keeps a careful, factual pace throughout.
We open with a short sound check on the square. I keep a formal, careful pace, laying out the sequence of events plainly, and always leave space for questions, including from people with their own memories of the period. Afterwards I send a short timeline of that week.
This suits anyone with a serious interest in Romania's recent history. It also works well paired with the Calea Victoriei walk.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
