Svornosti Square and a spit-roasted pastry
Highlights
- Pastry wound fresh onto a spit
- An arcaded square, largely unchanged
- A regional specialty, explained on camera
- Everyday food beyond the castle walls
- Renaissance facades around a working square
About this tour
This session covers Svornosti Square, the old town's main square, and a bakery known for a spit-roasted sweet pastry associated with the region. You see the arcaded facades around the square, then the pastry being wound onto its spit before cooking. It is a food-focused look at everyday life in the old town.
I start on the square and move to the bakery for the second stop, timing it so the spit is usually turning. Questions come as we go, and I am happy to explain the recipe again if the connection cuts out for a moment. A short note on other bakeries worth knowing follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone who wants to see the town's everyday food culture rather than only its castle and museums. It also works well before or after a longer castle session.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
