Cetățuia Hill at sunset
Highlights
- A citadel wall from the 1700s
- The old town seen from above
- Light turning gold over the rooftops
- A quiet climb across the river
- Cluj's skyline, named piece by piece
About this tour
This session climbs Cetățuia Hill on the far side of the river from Cluj's old town. You follow the path up past the surviving stretch of citadel wall before reaching the terrace at the top, where the whole old town spreads out below as the light turns gold. The session times itself around sunset.
We open with a short sound check partway up the hill. I keep a steady, unhurried pace for the climb and take questions once we reach the terrace. Afterwards I send a short list of the towers and buildings you saw from above.
This suits anyone wanting a quiet, visual session over anything heavily historical. It also works well booked straight after the Union Square walk.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

- A short list of places to visit later

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cluj-Napoca before heading out.
-
The climb to Cetățuia 21 min
The camera follows the path up the hill across the river, and I point out how the citadel wall still traces its original eighteenth-century line.
-
The view over the old town 21 min
We reach the terrace above the wall as the light turns gold, and I name the towers and rooftops spread out below.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Cluj-Napoca: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls) and Mănăștur, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Bucharest time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
