About this tour

This session moves through Nørrebro, from Queen Louise Bridge to the workshops of Jægersborggade and on to Superkilen park and Assistens Cemetery. The camera takes in a district built around its own public spaces, a bridge for sitting, a park built from objects sent in from around the world, and a cemetery that doubles as a park. The guide explains how each one came to be.

The call opens with a short sound check, then follows the district stop by stop, with time for questions about anything on screen. A short list of the stops and the cemetery's opening hours follows by message once the call ends.

This suits anyone interested in how a city designs its public spaces, whether planning a visit to Copenhagen or simply curious from home. It also suits anyone interested in Andersen or Kierkegaard who wants to see where they are buried.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 7 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Copenhagen before heading out.

  2. Queen Louise Bridge 21 min

Queen Louise Bridge is where Copenhagen gathers whenever the sun comes out, and the guide explains why this exact spot over the lake became the city's unofficial sunbathing deck.

  3. Jægersborggade workshops 21 min

Jægersborggade's small workshops line a street that used to have a rough reputation, and the guide stops at a coffee roaster to explain how the street changed over the last twenty years.

  4. Superkilen and Assistens Cemetery 21 min

Superkilen park brings together objects chosen from sixty countries to represent Nørrebro's residents, and the walk ends in Assistens Cemetery, where the guide points out the graves of Hans Christian Andersen and Kierkegaard.

  5. Your questions 14 min

Time to ask anything about Copenhagen: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 6 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Frikadeller (meatballs) and Vesterbro, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Copenhagen time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
