Elizabeth Fort and the walls of old Cork

About this tour
This session looks at Cork's defences from the inside of a 17th-century star fort still standing above the city. You see the ramparts up close and the wide view over the centre and its two river channels that made this hill so valuable militarily. It stays focused on stonework and setting rather than moving quickly between sights.
After a short sound check on the ramparts, I walk the wall stop by stop, pointing out details in the stone before explaining their history. I take questions live rather than saving them, and I send a short note afterwards on the fort's later uses.
It suits anyone interested in fortification and military history, and anyone who wants a wide view over Cork before exploring further themselves.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
