About this tour
This session looks at Dijon's fine arts museum from the outside, using the palace's courtyard, tower and garden to explain the collection housed within. You see the entrance, the tall Tower of Philip the Good, and a quieter garden side of the same building. Isabelle explains how the museum's collection traces directly back to the dukes who once lived here.
The call opens with a sound check at the entrance, then moves at a measured pace around the building's different faces. Isabelle answers questions about the collection throughout, even though the camera stays outside. A short list of what was covered follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone deciding whether the museum is worth a future visit. It also suits viewers who enjoy palace architecture on its own terms.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 6 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dijon before heading out.
-
Museum entrance courtyard 17 min
The camera takes in the entrance to one of France's oldest fine art museums, set inside the former ducal palace. I explain how the collection grew directly out of the dukes' own holdings.
-
Tower of Philip the Good, exterior 17 min
You see the palace's tallest tower from below, once used as a lookout over the city. I point out the viewing platform at the top, visible from ground level.
-
Palace garden side 17 min
The camera moves to a quieter side of the palace, gardens laid out along the old fortifications. I explain how this side of the building differs from the grand square out front.
-
Your questions 11 min
Time to ask anything about Dijon: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 5 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Escargots de Bourgogne and Rue Musette / Les Halles quarter, worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
