Kunsthofpassage: Neustadt's courtyard of elements
Highlights
- Rain gutters built to play music
- A courtyard for each separate theme
- Giraffes and monkeys on a Neustadt wall
- Public art you can only fully see up close
- Kunsthofpassage's linked courtyards
About this tour
This session walks through Kunsthofpassage, a set of linked courtyards in Neustadt, from the Courtyard of the Elements to a neighbouring animal-themed courtyard. You see the facade fitted with rain gutters shaped like musical instruments, designed to play during a downpour. The session finishes among giraffe and monkey sculptures in the next courtyard along.
We open with a short sound check in the first courtyard. I move slowly between the two spaces, since each one has plenty of detail worth pointing out, and take questions throughout about the artists involved. Afterwards I send a short note on the other courtyards in the passage.
This suits anyone interested in unusual public art and Neustadt's more playful side. It also works well alongside the evening session for a fuller picture of the district.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
