Grafton Street buskers and Georgian arcades
Highlights
- Grafton Street's busking permits explained
- A covered Georgian shopping arcade
- Street performers at work
- Older architecture beside modern shopfronts
- An easy, sociable city-centre walk
About this tour
This session walks Dublin's busiest pedestrian street and a quieter Georgian arcade just off it, looking at both the street's busking culture and its older architecture. You see performers at work and covered arcades that most shoppers walk straight past. It moves at an easy pace along a short, busy stretch.
After a short sound check at the street's top, I walk down stop by stop, explaining the busking scene before ducking into the arcade to look at its older architecture. I take questions live as they come and send a short note afterwards on where to find live music most evenings.
It suits anyone interested in street culture and everyday Dublin life, and anyone who wants a lighter, more sociable session.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Dublin before heading out.
-
Grafton Street's buskers 15 min
The camera takes in street performers along the pedestrianised street, and I explain how the city manages busking permits and why certain spots are more sought after than others.
-
The Georgian arcades off the street 15 min
You see a covered Georgian shopping arcade just off the main street, and I point out architectural details that predate the modern shopfronts around it.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Dublin: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Irish stew and Temple Bar, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
