About this tour
This session follows Fethiye's food from the harbour market to the grill houses that cook what is bought there. You see the fish laid out on ice, the spice stalls of the old bazaar, and the open kitchen where the fish goes on the coals. Each stop shows a different step in how the town eats fresh fish.
I begin with a sound check, then we move through the market stall by stall while you ask about the fish and the prices. Midway I stop at the spice stalls so you can see the range of dried ingredients up close. At the end I send you a short list of the fish and the spices I mentioned.
This suits anyone curious about the local food chain before they order at a restaurant themselves. It also suits a home cook who wants to see how ingredients are chosen and prepared here.

You watch the stalls where the day's catch is laid out on ice. I explain how the system works here, where you choose your own fish and a restaurant nearby cooks it for a set charge.

Bazaar Spice Stalls 17 min
The camera moves along a row of spice and dried fruit stalls in Paspatur. I point out a few ingredients used in local cooking that visitors rarely recognise.

Grill House Kitchen Window 17 min
From outside a small grill house I show you the open kitchen where the fish is cooked over coals. I explain the steps between the market stall and the plate.
