Fethiye Museum and the carved stones of Telmessos
Highlights
- Stone reliefs kept in the courtyard
- Finds pulled from around the modern town
- Coins and pottery from the region
- A picture of daily life in Telmessos
- The town before its current name
About this tour
This short session looks at what remains of ancient Telmessos through the collection at Fethiye Museum. You see stone reliefs kept in the courtyard and smaller finds inside, coins and pottery pulled from sites around the modern town. Between the two rooms, the session builds a picture of the town before it carried its current name.
We start with a brief sound check, then move from the courtyard to the display room while you ask questions along the way. I pause on a couple of pieces I find most telling about daily life here. I close with a short written note on what we covered.
This suits anyone short on time who still wants the historical background behind the rock tombs and the amphitheatre. It also works as a starting point before booking a longer walk through the old town.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

- A short list of places to visit later

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
