Blackrock to the bay: a Salthill walk
Highlights
- Tide pools below the diving tower
- Seaweed beds foraged for generations
- Galway Bay's full open sweep
- The Burren's hills across the water
- A slow, detailed coastal walk
About this tour
This session moves slowly along the rocky shoreline at Blackrock and out to a wide open view of Galway Bay, with the Burren's limestone hills visible across the water on a clear day. You see the tide pools and shoreline detail up close before the view opens right out. It stays along the water throughout at a relaxed pace.
After a short sound check on the rocks, I move stop by stop between the shoreline detail and the wider bay view, explaining what you are looking at as we go. I answer questions live and send a short note afterwards on the Burren for anyone planning to visit it directly.
It suits anyone who enjoys coastal detail as much as a wide view, and anyone curious about what lies across the bay.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
