About this tour
This session walks the Alhambra complex from the outside in, from the ramparts of the Alcazaba to the courtyards of the Nasrid Palaces and the gardens of the Generalife. You see the Court of the Lions, the Patio de la Acequia and the Arabic inscriptions carved into the walls. It is Granada's palace and fortress shown courtyard by courtyard.
The guide opens with a sound check, then moves through the complex courtyard by courtyard, translating inscriptions and pointing out details along the way. Questions come in live, and a short list of what was covered is sent on afterwards.
This suits anyone planning a visit who wants the layout and the history explained before they go. It also suits viewers who cannot make the trip but want the palace explained properly.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 7 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Granada before heading out.
-
Alcazaba fortress 21 min
The camera climbs the Alcazaba, the oldest part of the Alhambra, up to the Torre de la Vela. From the ramparts, the guide points out the layout of Granada below and explains the fortress's role before the palaces were built.
-
Court of the Lions 21 min
In the Court of the Lions, seen from the courtyard, the camera takes in the arcades and the fountain at its centre. The guide reads a line of the Arabic inscriptions carved into the walls and translates what it says about the palace.
-
Generalife gardens 21 min
Walking through the Generalife gardens, the camera follows the water channel of the Patio de la Acequia between its fountains and flowerbeds. The guide explains how this was the sultans' summer retreat, away from the business of the main palace.
-
Your questions 14 min
Time to ask anything about Granada: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Remojón granadino and Sacromonte, worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
