The Old Bridge and its bronze monkey
Highlights
- Twin towers rebuilt after river ice
- A bronze monkey holding a mirror
- An old rhyme carved into bronze
- The old town's most photographed corner
- A quick, close look at one bridge
About this tour
This short walk covers the Old Bridge from its fortified gate to the bronze monkey statue beside it. You see the twin stone towers that replaced a string of earlier bridges destroyed by ice and flood, and the small bronze figure holding a mirror at the entrance. It is a quick, focused look at one of the old town's most photographed corners.
I keep this session brief and move directly between the two stops, leaving plenty of time for questions about the bridge's odd statue. Afterwards I send a short note with the rhyme's translation for anyone who wants to read it again.
This suits anyone with limited time who still wants the bridge explained properly. It also pairs well as a quick add-on before or after a longer castle session.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
