About this tour
This session covers Innsbruck's old town, from the Golden Roof balcony to the bronze tomb figures inside the Hofkirche. You see the stucco front of the Helblinghaus and the painted riverside houses of Mariahilf. It closes on the Inn riverbank with the mountains behind the rooftops.
The guide checks the connection, then works through the old town street by street, stopping at each facade or doorway worth a longer look. Questions come in as you go, on the buildings or on anything else you notice on screen. Afterwards a short list of the buildings and their dates arrives by message.
It suits anyone who wants a close look at the old town's details before visiting, or who remembers walking these streets and wants to see them again. It also works well for a quiet half hour away from your own day.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 10 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Innsbruck before heading out.
-
Golden Roof 21 min
The camera holds on the Golden Roof, 2,657 gilded copper tiles built as a balcony for Emperor Maximilian I in 1500. The guide explains why he needed a viewing box directly over the main square.
-
Helblinghaus facade 21 min
Next door the camera picks out the Helblinghaus, a plain medieval house given a coat of white stucco curls and shells in the eighteenth century. The guide points out where the older stone front still shows through.
-
Hofkirche interior 21 min
Inside the Hofkirche the camera moves along rows of larger than life bronze figures guarding an empty tomb. The guide explains who commissioned them and why Maximilian is not actually buried here.
-
Inn riverbank, Mariahilf 21 min
From the Inn riverbank the camera looks across at the painted facades of Mariahilf, then passes a window display at Café Munding. The guide points out which houses are original and which were rebuilt after flooding.
-
Your questions 18 min
Time to ask anything about Innsbruck: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 8 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Kasspatzln and Altstadt, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
