About this tour
This session covers Trümmelbach Falls, a set of waterfalls carved inside the mountain by meltwater from three glaciers. You see the base of the falls and an upper gallery where the water drops through chambers the current itself carved over centuries. Andreas explains how the volume of water changes through the day as the glaciers above warm and cool.
He starts low and moves upward through the gallery, timing each stop to when the water sounds loudest. He answers questions about the glaciers feeding the falls throughout.
This suits anyone drawn to dramatic natural features rather than architecture or history. It works especially well in the warmer months, when the falls run at their fullest.

Andreas starts at the base of the falls, where meltwater from three glaciers forces its way through a narrow gorge inside the mountain.
