Andreas Bühler

I studied geology before I started guiding, and the caves and waterfalls above the two lakes are still what I find most worth explaining on camera. At St. Beatus I tell the old hermit's legend alongside the limestone formations themselves, since both are part of what makes the caves worth seeing. At Trümmelbach I explain how meltwater from three separate glaciers carved chambers into solid rock over centuries. I keep my pace deliberate at both sites, since dripping water and old stone both reward patience. I answer questions about the geology or the folklore, whichever comes up first.
