İstiklal Street's Çiçek Pasajı
Highlights
- A historic covered passage
- Ironwork and old tables, explained
- A flower market's earlier life
- İstiklal Street's historic buildings
- Beyoğlu's shifting history
About this tour
This session approaches the Çiçek Pasajı along İstiklal Street, taking in the historic buildings that line the pedestrian route before reaching the covered passage itself. You see the ironwork and old tables inside the passage, and hear about its earlier life as a flower market. Kerem explains how the passage's use has shifted over the decades.
The call opens with a sound check on İstiklal Street, then moves into the passage as the approach continues. Kerem answers questions about the buildings along the way and sends a short note afterwards on the passage's history.
This suits anyone who wants historic Beyoğlu explained properly rather than just photographed. It also pairs well with the design studio session in nearby Karaköy.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
