Kordon promenade at evening
Highlights
- Kordon's evening promenade crowd
- Old consulate buildings by the water
- Regulars fishing from the seawall
- A waterfront that has stayed constant
- Izmir's daily evening rhythm
About this tour
This session follows the Kordon, Izmir's long waterfront promenade, as the evening crowd of walkers and cyclists builds along the water. You see the old consulate buildings still standing along this stretch of the bay and the regulars who fish from the seawall most evenings. Onur, who guides much of his work along this stretch, points out how the promenade's use has stayed consistent even as the buildings behind it have changed.
The call opens with a sound check at one end of the promenade, then follows the water's edge as the evening builds. Onur answers questions about specific buildings and sends a short note afterwards on the promenade's history.
This suits anyone who wants a relaxed sense of daily life in Izmir rather than a monument-by-monument walk. It also pairs well with the Asansör session nearby.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
