  • Quiet backstreets, busy bars behind them
  • Kazimierz's nightlife, explained on camera
  • A district's old buildings, reused after dark

About this tour

This evening session moves between two of Kazimierz's bars, one in a converted tenement courtyard and one built into a vaulted cellar, with a look at the quiet backstreets connecting them. You see how differently each venue uses its old building. It is a look at how the district's bar scene grew directly out of its existing architecture rather than purpose-built venues.

We start at the courtyard bar with a short sound check, then move through the backstreets to the cellar bar. I explain the buildings' history and the district's nightlife growth as we go, taking questions throughout. A short list of further venues follows by message afterwards.

It suits anyone wanting a proper evening in Kazimierz rather than just the busiest square. It also pairs well with the daytime synagogues session for the fuller district.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Krakow before heading out.

  2. A converted synagogue courtyard bar 17 min

The camera opens in a courtyard bar built into a former tenement, and I explain how much of Kazimierz's bar scene grew directly out of buildings tied to its prewar Jewish community.

  3. A cellar bar entrance 17 min

We move to a bar built into an old cellar nearby, and you see the vaulted brick ceiling that gives these spaces their particular atmosphere.

  4. Kazimierz backstreets at night 17 min

From the backstreets between the two venues, the camera shows how quiet the district looks compared to how busy it sounds once you step inside either bar.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Krakow: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Bigos and Podgórze, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Warsaw time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
