Flon after dark: warehouses turned into a night out
Highlights
- Old warehouses behind new signage
- A freight yard turned nightlife hub
- An evening crowd building in real time
- The planning story behind a district
- Flon's brick bones still visible
About this tour
This evening session covers Flon, the former freight yard turned into Lausanne's main nightlife district. You see a row of old warehouses with their original brick still visible behind newer signage, and the central square as the evening crowd starts to build. Noé, who studied the district's planning history, treats the transformation itself as the story.
He starts early in the evening, before the district gets too loud, then moves toward the central square as things pick up. He points out the older structures throughout, keeping one eye on history even in a nightlife setting.
This suits anyone curious about how a city repurposes old infrastructure rather than only its current bars. It works best booked for the evening, when the district is properly alive.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
