Kolossi Castle and the Knights Hospitaller
Highlights
- A castle held by the Knights Hospitaller
- Sugar production shaped this estate
- An aqueduct and mill still visible
- Crusader-era defensive design
- A guide's decade around both sites
About this tour
This session walks the exterior and grounds of Kolossi Castle, once held by the Knights Hospitaller and closely tied to sugar production in the surrounding fields. You see the castle's defensive design and the remains of the industrial works that supported it. It stays on the public grounds throughout.
I walk the site at a measured pace, explaining the Knights' presence here before describing the sugar mill remains nearby. Questions about Crusader-era history are always welcome.
This suits anyone interested in medieval military history or the island's agricultural past. It also pairs well with the Kourion session on the same trip out of the city.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later
Not included

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
