About this tour
This walk follows the Beatles' Liverpool before the fame, from Mathew Street and the site of the original Cavern Club to the Jacaranda's basement stage. You see the doorway of Ye Cracke, John Lennon's student local, and hear about the Liverpool College of Art and Institute where John and Paul studied. It traces the streets the band walked before Brian Epstein's record shop in Whitechapel changed everything.
The session starts with a sound check, then walks the streets in roughly the order the band themselves would have known them, with time at each stop for the stories behind it. Questions come as you go, and a short list of the addresses and their Beatles connections follows by message afterwards.
This suits Beatles fans who want more than Mathew Street's souvenir shops, and anyone curious about Liverpool before 1962. It also suits those who cannot make the trip but want to see the streets as they look today.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
