About this tour

This session follows Tivoli Park from its formal entrance to a quiet pond and on toward the hillside path that climbs further up. You see how the park was laid out to slow a walk down rather than rush it, and how completely the city's noise fades by the time the path starts climbing. It stays inside the park boundary throughout.

I move at an unhurried pace between the three stops, pause longer at the pond since the light there changes quickly, and take questions at any point along the way.

This suits anyone who wants a quieter, greener side of Ljubljana away from the old town squares. It also suits viewers who enjoy a longer, slower walking pace.

  • Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Ljubljana before heading out.

  2. Tivoli Mansion Grounds 17 min

You see the formal grounds in front of the mansion, and I explain how this end of the park was laid out to lead the eye straight toward the building.

  3. The Park Pond 17 min

The camera reaches the pond further along the main path, and I point out how the park's paths were designed to slow visitors down rather than lead them quickly through.

  4. Hillside Path Toward Rožnik 17 min

We finish where the flat park paths start climbing gently toward the hill, and I describe how the city noise fades out almost completely by this point.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Ljubljana: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Kranjska klobasa sausage and Old Town, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Ljubljana time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
