An evening among the traboules
Highlights
- Traboule entrances harder to spot at dusk
- A courtyard lit from within
- Stonework's different evening character
- Fourvière lit up above the river
- Seventy-five minutes from dusk to night
About this tour
This evening session moves through Vieux Lyon's traboules as the light fades, finishing at a riverside view of a lit Fourvière on the hill above. You see a lit courtyard take on a completely different character than it has by day. Adèle explains how these passages, built for daily use, were never designed with this kind of lighting in mind.
The call opens with a sound check as the light starts to fade, then moves at an easy pace through the passages. Adèle answers questions throughout and lingers wherever the lighting is worth a longer look. A short list of the stops follows by message once the session ends.
This suits anyone who has already seen Vieux Lyon by day and wants its evening version too. It also suits viewers simply curious about a historic quarter after dark.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 6 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Lyon before heading out.
-
Rue du Boeuf at dusk 17 min
The camera follows the narrowing street as restaurant lights come on, the traboule entrances harder to spot in the fading light. I point out the small signs marking public passages, easy to miss even in daylight.
-
A lit courtyard 17 min
You see a traboule courtyard lit from within, the stonework taking on a completely different character after dark. I explain how these spaces were never meant to be seen this way originally.
-
Quai view back at Fourvière 17 min
The camera turns to the river and catches Fourvière lit up on the hill above. I point out how the basilica's lighting changes the whole skyline once night falls.
-
Your questions 11 min
Time to ask anything about Lyon: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 5 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Andouillette and Croix-Rousse, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
