Highlights

  • Matching facades, one plan
  • A street aligned to a view
  • Marble paving, still original
  • Cathedral towers, framed on purpose

About this tour

This session walks Calle Larios from its marble paving to the point where the cathedral's towers come into full view, tracing a street rebuilt after a 19th-century flood destroyed much of what stood here before. You see the matching facades added during that rebuilding and the deliberate framing of the cathedral at the street's end. The route stays short and flat, easy to follow at any pace.

We begin partway along the street with a short check of the light, then walk steadily toward the cathedral end, pausing to explain the flood and the rebuilding in some detail. I answer questions as we go and send a short note on the street's history afterward.

This suits anyone interested in 19th-century urban planning, and travellers who want a calm orientation walk before exploring further. It works well at either end of the day, before the street gets busiest.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Malaga before heading out.

  2. The marble paving 15 min

The camera looks along the marble-paved street, rebuilt after a 19th-century flood destroyed much of what stood here before, and I point out the matching facades added during that rebuilding.

  3. The cathedral end 15 min

We reach the end of the street where the cathedral's towers come into view, and I explain how the street was deliberately aligned to frame that exact sightline.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Malaga: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Espeto de sardinas and La Malagueta, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
