Lilla Torg, a square that still works
Highlights
- Half-timbered buildings from the 1500s
- Original stone alongside careful restoration
- A square that still works as one
- Cobbles and market stalls, together
- Malmö's liveliest small square
About this tour
This session walks Lilla Torg, Malmö's small cobbled square of half-timbered buildings. You see original sixteenth-century sections alongside carefully restored ones. Alva draws on running a small stall here on quieter weekends to describe the square as a working space rather than simply a historic one.
She moves around the square at an easy pace, pointing out which buildings are original and which have been restored more recently. Questions about the square's current uses come up regularly, and she answers from her own time spent there.
This suits anyone wanting a lively introduction to central Malmö. It pairs with Alva's second session at Kockska huset, a quieter building just around the corner.

A square that still works 15 min
Sitting at the edge of the square, I explain how Lilla Torg has stayed a working market and gathering place rather than becoming a purely historical display.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
