- Chora's centre, main street and side lane
About this tour
This short walk follows Matoyianni Street, the marble paved spine running through the centre of Chora, before ducking into a quieter side lane nearby. Despoina explains why the streets were built so narrow and winding, a defence against raiders rather than a design choice for looks. The camera takes in both the busy main street and the calmer lane just off it.
Despoina checks the connection at the start of the street before walking its length at an easy pace, pointing out architectural details as she goes. She answers questions about the shops and buildings and turns off into the side lane once the main street is covered. A short list of what was seen follows afterwards.
This suits travellers wanting an orientation walk through Chora's centre before exploring on their own. It also works well for anyone curious about why the old town is laid out the way it is.

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
