About this tour
This session covers Halki, the former commercial capital of Naxos, and its old kitron liqueur distillery. Manos shows the neoclassical mansions built when the village handled the island's trade, then moves inside the distillery to show the copper stills still used today. He explains how kitron gets its distinctive flavour from citron leaves rather than the fruit itself.
Manos checks his connection outside the first mansion before walking through the village toward the distillery, pointing out the old shipping signs as he goes. He answers questions about the liqueur making process once inside. A short list of what was seen follows the call.
This suits travellers interested in local food and drink history away from the coast. It also works well for anyone planning to visit Halki themselves and wanting context first.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
