About this tour

This session goes looking for where Bruges actually eats, away from the postcard views around the Markt and Belfry. You see a market stall doing steady local trade and a bakery counter mid-morning. It is built around what to order rather than what to see.

The guide opens with a sound check near the market, then moves between stops explaining what each one is known for. You can ask about ingredients, prices or opening times as the walk continues. A shortlist of places to eat is sent on once the call ends.

This suits anyone planning a food-focused visit to Bruges and wanting real recommendations before arriving. It also suits former visitors curious what has changed at their old favourite spots.

Included

  • Live video walk with a local guide
  • Questions to your guide all the way
  • A short list of places to visit later

Not included

  • Internet connection
  • Travel to the city

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Bruges before heading out.

  2. A local market stall 21 min

The camera stops at a market stall doing steady business with locals rather than visitors, crates of vegetables and cheese stacked along the front. The guide explains what regulars actually buy here on an ordinary morning.

  3. A bakery counter 21 min

Inside a bakery the camera follows trays coming out of the oven, from plain rolls to filled pastries. The guide explains what to ask for at the counter and which items sell out earliest in the day.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Bruges: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Flemish stew and Historic Centre, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Brussels time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
