About this tour

This session shows Salzburg once the day-trippers have gone, from the Salzach riverbank facing the lit fortress to the quieter streets of Andräviertel. You see how the old town changes under lights and where the crowds thin out. It follows the same after-dark route each time, adjusted for whatever is lit or quiet that evening.

The guide starts with a short sound check by the river, then walks the route at an evening pace, pausing wherever the light or the street is worth a longer look. You can ask questions throughout about the buildings, the history or the neighbourhood itself. A short list of the spots covered follows the call.

This suits night owls curious about a city after the shops close, and returning visitors who only ever saw Salzburg by day. It also works for anyone who likes to end their evening somewhere else for a while.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Salzburg before heading out.

  2. Salzach riverbank at night 21 min

As dusk falls the camera looks across the Salzach to Hohensalzburg Fortress lit up on its hill. The guide waits for the lights to come on one by one and points out how the reflection changes on the water.

  3. Andräviertel back streets 21 min

Away from the floodlit old town the camera crosses into Andräviertel, where cafes stay lit later and the streets are quieter. The guide shows a corner locals use after dinner and explains why visitors rarely cross the river this far.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Salzburg: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Kasnocken and Andräviertel, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Vienna time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
