About this tour

This hour-long session tells Milan's story through two of its landmark buildings, the Duomo and Sforza Castle. You see the cathedral's forest of spires and the fortress walls of the Sforza family, with the guide filling in what happened between them. It moves quickly, covering centuries of the city's history in a single sitting.

A brief sound check opens the call, then the guide moves between the two stops explaining the key turns in Milan's history, leaving time in the second half for your questions.

This suits anyone who wants a fast introduction to Milan before a trip, or a refresher on a city they already know.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Milan before heading out.

  2. Milan Cathedral 21 min

Standing before the Duomo's forest of spires, the guide explains how long the cathedral took to build and why the marble facade still shows different stages of that work.

  3. Sforza Castle 21 min

Outside the fortress walls, the guide traces the Sforza family's rise in Milan and how a fifteenth-century stronghold became the museum complex standing today.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Milan: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Cotoletta alla milanese and Quadrilatero della Moda, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.

  • Times are shown in Rome time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
