About this tour

This call covers the National Museum's collection without a camera walk, built around Kristin's own knowledge of the building's layout. She talks through what is currently on display, including where The Scream is hanging this season. The conversation moves floor by floor through the wider Norwegian collection.

The call opens with a quick check of what you already know about the museum, then moves into the galleries in the order Kristin recommends. She sends a short list of rooms and works worth prioritising once the call ends.

This suits anyone planning a museum visit who wants a clearer sense of the layout first. It also suits anyone who cannot visit at all but wants to understand the collection properly.

Itinerary

  1. Hello, and what you want to know 5 min

The guide calls you and asks what you are after: planning Oslo, recommendations, or just questions.

  2. What's on this month 15 min

We start with what is currently on display across the museum's many rooms, and I explain which galleries hold The Scream and the rest of the Norwegian collection this season.

  3. A collection walked through 15 min

I talk through the layout floor by floor from memory, so you know roughly where to head first if you visit, and I check which periods interest you most before we finish.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Ask anything that is still on your mind, there is no fixed script.

  5. A written note after the call 3 min

You get a short follow-up message with everything mentioned, so you do not have to remember it all.

Good to know

  • A stable phone or internet connection, whichever the guide uses to reach you.
  • No app to install. You answer when the guide calls, or join a video call if you would rather.
  • Times are shown in Oslo time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The call is not recorded. Keep your own note of anything you want to remember, or wait for the follow-up message.
  • Have your questions ready, though there is time to think of more as you go.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
