About this tour

This is a planning call about Mallorcan art rather than a live walk through a gallery. I talk through a handful of painters worth knowing and then a shortlist of galleries in the old town that show serious work. You leave with names and context rather than a generic list.

We start with whichever period interests you more, historical or contemporary, and I build the rest of the call around that. I answer questions about specific artists as they come up rather than working through a fixed script. At the end I send over the gallery list with notes on what each one shows.

This suits anyone who wants context before visiting Palma's galleries rather than walking in blind. It also works for collectors curious about which island artists are worth following.

Itinerary

  1. Hello, and what you want to know 5 min

The guide calls you and asks what you are after: planning Palma de Mallorca, recommendations, or just questions.

  2. Painters to know 15 min

I talk through a handful of Mallorcan painters worth knowing before you look at any local gallery, what period they worked in and what makes their work recognisable. You can ask me to go deeper on any one of them.

  3. Galleries worth your time 15 min

I go through a short list of galleries around the old town that show serious work rather than tourist prints, including a couple that represent living island artists. I explain what each one specialises in so you know before you go.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Ask anything that is still on your mind, there is no fixed script.

  5. A written note after the call 3 min

You get a short follow-up message with everything mentioned, so you do not have to remember it all.

Good to know

  • A stable phone or internet connection, whichever the guide uses to reach you.
  • No app to install. You answer when the guide calls, or join a video call if you would rather.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The call is not recorded. Keep your own note of anything you want to remember, or wait for the follow-up message.
  • Have your questions ready, though there is time to think of more as you go.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
