About this tour

This session walks the Lungarno in the evening rather than the middle of the day, when the light changes how the whole riverfront looks. You see the pastel facades along the water, Santa Maria della Spina catching the low sun, and a wide view from the central bridge. The changing light is as much the subject as the buildings themselves.

We move at a relaxed pace, pausing longer at each stop than a daytime walk usually allows. I explain a little about the riverfront's history as we go, and take questions once we reach the bridge.

It suits anyone who has already seen Pisa's main square and wants a calmer, more local view of the city. It also works well as a closing session after a day of walks.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Pisa before heading out.

  2. Riverside facades 17 min

The camera moves along the pastel-coloured buildings of the Lungarno as the evening light softens their colour noticeably.

  3. Santa Maria della Spina at dusk 17 min

Passing the small Gothic church, I point out how its carved pinnacles catch the low light differently than they do at midday.

  4. Ponte di Mezzo 17 min

The walk finishes on the central bridge, and the camera turns along the river in both directions to take in the full stretch of the Lungarni.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Pisa: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Castagnaccio (chestnut cake) and Borgo Stretto, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Rome time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
