About this tour
This session climbs through Plovdiv from the Roman Stadium beneath the main street to the Revival-era houses of the Old Town. You see the fourteenth-century Dzhumaya mosque and sit in the seats of the Roman theatre, still used for concerts. It ends in Kapana, the old craftsmen's quarter turned creative district.
The guide checks sound at the stadium, then climbs through the Old Town toward the theatre, explaining each layer of the city's history as it appears. You can ask about the Romans, the Ottoman period or the modern Kapana district throughout. A short list of the sites and their dates is sent on afterwards.
This suits history-minded visitors who want Plovdiv's layers explained in the order they were built. It also suits anyone planning a short visit and wanting the main sights covered in one session.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
