The Three Hills, an evening climb
Highlights
- One of the city's original seven hills
- Mountains visible on a clear evening
- Rock older than the city around it
- A quiet climb at dusk
- Plovdiv's hills, seen from above
About this tour
This session climbs one of Plovdiv's syenite hills at dusk, part of a small range that once numbered seven and shaped the ancient city's layout. You follow the path up, then reach the summit as the light fades, with the other hills and the Rhodope mountains visible on a clear evening. The session times itself for sunset.
We open with a short sound check partway up. I keep a relaxed, easy pace and take questions about the hills' geology and history as we go. Afterwards I send a short note on the best times to catch similar light.
This suits anyone wanting a calm, visual session away from the busier Old Town. It also works well as a closing session after a day of history walks.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
