  • A street shaped by a consolidating industry
  • The fuller story behind Czech beer
  • A proper walk through brewing history

About this tour

This longer session walks between two historic beer halls and a street once lined with smaller breweries, tracing how Prague's brewing industry actually developed. You see a centuries-old brewery gate, a second hall with a different history, and finally a street shaped by an industry that has since consolidated. It is a proper history walk rather than a single stop.

I move at a steady pace between the three stops, spacing the walk so it does not feel rushed between halls. Questions come throughout, and I am happy to compare two halls' histories again if it helps. A short note on which halls still brew on site follows afterwards.

This suits anyone who wants the fuller story behind Czech beer rather than a single evening stop. It also pairs well with the shorter pilsner hall session for contrast.

Included

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 7 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Prague before heading out.

  2. A brewery's historic gate 21 min

The camera takes in a brewery gate dating back centuries, and I explain how brewing here predates the pilsner style's spread worldwide.

  3. A second historic hall facade 21 min

We move to a second hall, and I compare its history with the first, pointing out what each represents in the city's brewing story.

  4. A street of former breweries 21 min

The walk finishes along a street once lined with smaller breweries, and I explain how the industry consolidated over the last century.

  5. Your questions 14 min

Time to ask anything about Prague: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 6 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Trdelník and Malá Strana, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Prague time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
