Fažana harbour and the boats to Brijuni
Highlights
- A harbour village facing the islands
- Boats loading for the morning crossing
- Old olive groves seen from the water
- A small safari park, explained
- A gateway explained before you go
About this tour
This session opens on the quay at Fažana, the small harbour village that serves as the gateway to the Brijuni Islands. You see the boats loading for the morning crossing and, from the water's edge, the outline of the islands themselves, with their old olive groves and small safari park. It gives a clear sense of the islands without needing to book a separate crossing.
We start on the quay with a sound check, then move along the harbour wall as the boats head out, leaving room for questions about the islands' history. A short list of what is out there follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone deciding whether the islands are worth a separate day trip of their own. It also suits an early start, since the harbour is at its most active before mid-morning.

- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Pula before heading out.
-
The quay 21 min
The camera looks along Fažana's small harbour as boats load for the morning crossing, and I explain how this village became the gateway to the Brijuni Islands.
-
Boats to Brijuni 21 min
We watch the boats head out toward the archipelago, and I point out the islands' old olive groves and the safari park from the water's edge, since the park itself needs its own ticket to enter.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Pula: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Istrian pršut and Verudela, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Zagreb time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
