The Arab baths and Ronda's Moorish quarter
Highlights
- Among Spain's best-preserved baths
- Star-shaped steam vents
- A path unchanged for centuries
- Daily life, not just monuments
- Engineering explained plainly
About this tour
This session covers Ronda's Arab baths, among the best preserved in Spain, from their vaulted chambers with star-shaped steam vents to the old approach path linking the baths to the town above. You see the same route bathers once used centuries ago. The two stops sit close together, so the session moves at an easy, explanatory pace.
We begin inside the vaulted chambers with a short check of the light through the vents, then follow the path upward, pausing to explain how the baths fit into daily Moorish life. I answer questions about the engineering in some detail, since that tends to draw the most interest.
This suits anyone interested in engineering as much as history, and travellers who have already seen the bridge and want a lesser-known site. It runs at a steady, factual pace.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Ronda before heading out.
-
The bath's vaulted chambers 21 min
The camera moves through the well-preserved 13th-century Arab baths near the river, and I point out the star-shaped holes cut into the vaulted ceilings that once let steam escape.
-
The old approach path 21 min
You see the path leading up from the baths toward the Moorish quarter above, once the main route used by bathers moving between the river and the town.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Ronda: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Conejo al ajillo and El Mercadillo, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
