Highlights

  • A French design over Moorish walls
  • Terraces built into a garden
  • A facade older than it looks
  • A layout, not a staircase
  • A calm, shorter session

About this tour

This session shows the gardens of Casa del Rey Moro from the entrance terrace, a formal early 20th-century design layered over much older Moorish walls. You see the terraced planting and the house's weathered facade from just inside the gate. The ticketed staircase further inside the property stays outside this session, so the focus is entirely on the garden's visible layout.

We begin at the terrace with a short check of the light over the garden, then move along to the house facade, pausing to explain the mixed styles. I answer questions about the garden's design as we go and send a short note on its history afterward.

This suits anyone drawn to garden design and layered architecture, and travellers looking for a shorter, calmer session. It also works well paired with a walk through La Ciudad nearby.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Ronda before heading out.

  2. The terraced garden view 15 min

The camera looks out over the terraced garden, laid out in the early 20th century by a French landscape architect, and I explain how the design mixes formal French planting with the site's older Moorish walls.

  3. The house facade 15 min

You see the house's weathered stone facade above the terraces, and I point out details that hint at the building's much older Moorish origins beneath later additions.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Ronda: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Yemas de Ronda and San Francisco, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
