About this tour

This session traces Vlad the Third's connection to Sighișoara alongside the citadel's surviving guild towers. You see the house traditionally linked to his birth, then two of the towers once defended by the shoemakers' and tailors' guilds. The walk stays within the citadel's compact core throughout.

We open with a short sound check at the house. I keep a formal, detailed pace, separating documented history from later legend as we go, and take questions throughout. Afterwards I send a short note on which guilds held which towers.

This suits anyone with a serious interest in the history behind the Dracula legend. It also works well for visitors wanting the guild history in more detail than a general walk covers.

Included

  • Live video walk with a local guide
  • Questions to your guide all the way
  • A short list of places to visit later

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Sighisoara before heading out.

  2. Vlad Dracul House 17 min

The camera stops at the house traditionally said to be Vlad the Third's birthplace, and I separate what is documented from what later legend added.

  3. Shoemakers' Tower 17 min

We move to one of the surviving guild towers, and I explain how each craft guild in the citadel was responsible for defending its own section of wall.

  4. Tailors' Tower 17 min

The route finishes at another surviving tower, and I compare how the different guild towers were built and maintained over the centuries.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Sighisoara: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Mici (grilled meat rolls) and Dealul Gării (Station Hill), worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Bucharest time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
