The Petroleum Museum, from the plaza

- An industry explained from the inside

About this tour
This session walks the plaza of the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, filmed from outside rather than through its exhibition halls. You see the building's platform-inspired shape and the harbour it looks back toward. Camilla explains how Stavanger became the country's oil capital within a couple of decades.
She moves around the plaza at a steady pace, pointing out details in the building's design as she goes. Questions about the industry's local impact come up regularly, and she answers from her own years working in oil administration.
This suits anyone interested in modern Norwegian history and economics rather than the city's older sights. It pairs with Camilla's second session at the fish market, back where the story started.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
