- Cheese, bread and vegetables under gazebos
- A stallholder known for years
- Sourdough crust and crumb explained
- A Sunday market worth the early start
About this tour
This session walks the Sunday market in Stockbridge, held beside the river most weeks. You see stalls of cheese, bread and vegetables under gazebos, and a closer look at a sourdough stall's loaves. Jamie explains what makes several of the stallholders' produce worth seeking out, having known some of them for years.
After a short sound check by the river, the session moves stall to stall at an easy pace, pausing longest at the bread stall, with questions welcomed throughout. Jamie answers as you go and sends a short list of the stalls worth returning to afterwards.
It suits anyone interested in local food beyond a restaurant setting, and works well for those planning to visit the market themselves on a Sunday. It also appeals to home cooks.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
