Monteliusvägen, the view across the water
Highlights
- A cliffside path, wide open views
- City Hall seen from across the water
- A viewpoint most visitors never find
- Evening light, timed deliberately
- One of the city's clearest outlooks
About this tour
This evening session walks Monteliusvägen, a cliffside path on Södermalm looking directly across the water toward Kungsholmen and City Hall. You see one of the clearest, widest views in the city from a path most visitors never plan to find. I point out landmarks visible from this specific angle as the light changes.
We walk the path slowly, since the view rewards stopping often rather than moving quickly. I take questions as we go, timing the session for the light I know well from my own evening walks nearby. The session ends at the clearest point along the path.
This suits anyone who wants one of the city's best views away from the busier tourist paths. It also pairs well with the Kungsholmen session on the opposite shore.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Stockholm before heading out.
-
The cliffside path 15 min
You see the narrow path running along a cliff edge on Södermalm, looking across the water toward Kungsholmen and the City Hall tower. I explain why this stretch became such a well-known viewpoint.
-
The widest viewpoint 15 min
The camera reaches the point with the clearest view across the water, and I point out specific landmarks visible from here at this hour.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Stockholm: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Herring and Södermalm, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Stockholm time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
